The Metcalfe & District Hockey Association (MDHA) delivers minor hockey to players living in the communities of Metcalfe, Greely, Vernon, Kenmore and Edwards. MDHA offers House League and Rep B programming to its membership.
The MDHA is a member of the Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA), which is also known as District 9 within the parent organization of the Hockey Eastern Ontarion Minor (HEO MINOR, formerly named Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association (ODMHA)) and Hockey Canada’s Branch Hockey Eastern Ontario.
The geographical jurisdiction for the MDHA follows these boundaries:
- North : Mitch Owens Road from Manotick Station Road in the West to Boundary Road (Regional Road 41) in the East
- West : Manotick Station Road from Mitch Owens south to Nick Adams Road (Lot 10). Then East to Stagecoach Raod. South along Stagecoach Road until Snake Island Road. East until 5th Line Road. South along 5th Line Road until Springhill Road. East until Campbellcroft Road (6th Line). South until Belmeade Road.
- South : Belmeade Road from 6th Line in the West, along Marionville Road to Chemin Gregorie (Regional Road 41) in the East.
- East : Chemin Gregorie from Marionville Road in the south, north through to Boundary Road until Mitch Owens Road.
Registration rules are set by Hockey Canada. They require that a player register with the association that is located in the same geographic sub-division (i.e. Association) as the location of the residence of the players parent(s). If you live within these boundaries then you are a part of the MDHA. In order to be considered for playing in another district you will require a release from the MDHA President.
Our house league teams from Novice through to Juvenile, play against teams from Russell, Leitrim, Blackburn, Gloucester and Orleans minor hockey associations.
The MDHA Executive, who are voted in at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May, are volunteers who are elected to help to administer and deliver the minor hockey program for our community.
A map showing the MDHA boundaries can be found here.Still not sure where to register? The HEO has a web page to answer the question:
