VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM

It is requested that all Exectutive Members and team staff (Head and Asst Coaches, On Ice Volunteers, Trainers and Managers) complete the on-line Volunteer Application Form yearly.  Convernors will use this information when forming teams for the new season.  The registrar will use the information from the form to create new HC profiles for those that do not have them and update contact info for those that do.

NEW - PLANNING A SAFE RETURN TO HOCKEY

New for this COVID-19 year, all Executive Members and Team Staff are required to complete the on-line Planning a Safe Return to Hockey course.  The course will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.  There is no cost.

COACH AND TRAINER CERTIFICATIONS

Please read the attachment carefully.  There are very good notes on registering for Coach and Trainer courses.  Note that Trainer certifications expire after 3 years.

RESPECT IN SPORT FOR ACTIVITY LEADERS

All Head and Assistant Coaches, IP On-ice Volunteers, Trainers and Managers must have the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders course or the legacy Speakout course. This is not the same as the Respect in Sport Parent course and there is no equivalency.

GENDER IDENTITY AND EXPRESSION COURSE

This is a training course on the subject of trans-inclusive sport and an understanding of gender identity and expression.  The course is mandatory for all Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Trainers. The course consists of two on-line modules, which should take about 2 hours to complete, and there is no cost.

POLICE  RECORDS CHECK (VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK)

All Executive Members, Head and Assistant Coaches, IP On-ice Volunteers, Trainers and Managers must have  a current Police Records Check for Service with the Vulnerable Sector.  PRCs are to be renewed every three years.  The Ottawa Police Services now offer on-line applications.  A volunteer letter from the Registrar is required to waive the application fee.
